The Proceedings of the International Conference on Economics, Management, and Accounting (ICEMA) welcomes original research papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in economics, management, accounting, Islamic finance, and related interdisciplinary fields. Authors are required to prepare and submit their manuscripts in accordance with the guidelines below.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication in another journal, proceeding, or publication outlet. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors before entering the peer-review process.

1. General Requirements

Authors should comply with the following requirements:

• Manuscripts must be written in English.
• Manuscripts must present original research or scholarly work relevant to the scope of ICEMA.
• Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another publication.
• Manuscripts must follow the official ICEMA Proceedings Template.
• Manuscripts should be submitted through the official online submission system.
• The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
• Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, and academic integrity of their manuscripts.
• All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
• The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial team during the submission and review process.

2. Manuscript Length and Format

The manuscript should generally contain 5,000–8,000 words, including the main text, tables, figures, and references, unless otherwise specified by the conference committee.

The manuscript should follow these formatting requirements:

• Paper size: A4
• Font: Times New Roman
• Main text: 11 pt
• Line spacing: Single
• Alignment: Justified
• Margins: Follow the official ICEMA template
• Paragraph spacing: Follow the official ICEMA template
• File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Authors must use the official template to ensure consistency in formatting and presentation.

3. Title

The title should be concise, specific, informative, and relevant to the research. It should be written in English and should clearly communicate the central issue addressed by the manuscript.

• Preferably no more than 15–20 words.
• Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.
• Avoid overly broad or ambiguous expressions.
• Ensure that the title reflects the main topic or research variables.

4. Author Information

The manuscript should include:

• Full name of each author without academic degrees or professional titles.
• Institutional affiliation.
• Faculty, department, or study program, where applicable.
• City and country.
• Email address.
• ORCID ID, if available.
• Identification of the corresponding author.

The corresponding author is responsible for all communication concerning the manuscript.

5. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise overview of the entire research paper and should generally contain 200–250 words.

The abstract should include:

• Background or research context
• Research objective
• Research method
• Main findings
• Conclusion or implications

The abstract should be written as a single paragraph and should not contain citations, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations.

6. Keywords

Authors should provide 3–5 keywords immediately after the abstract.

• Keywords should reflect the main concepts of the manuscript.
• Keywords should be specific and relevant to the research.
• Keywords should be separated by semicolons.
• Avoid unnecessary general terms.

Example: Islamic finance; financial performance; corporate governance; sustainability; Indonesia

7. Recommended Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should generally follow the following structure:

1. Introduction
2. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
3. Research Methods
4. Results and Discussion
5. Conclusion
6. Acknowledgments (if applicable)
7. References

Authors may adjust the structure according to the characteristics of their research, provided that the manuscript maintains a clear and logical academic structure.

8. Introduction

The Introduction should clearly establish the context and significance of the research. It should include:

• Research background and context.
• Relevant research problem.
• Current state of knowledge.
• Research gap.
• Research novelty or contribution.
• Research objectives.
• Research questions or hypotheses, where appropriate.

Authors should use recent and relevant scholarly literature to establish the research gap and demonstrate the contribution of the study.

9. Literature Review and Theoretical Framework

The literature review should:

• Present relevant theories and concepts.
• Discuss previous empirical studies.
• Identify inconsistencies, limitations, or gaps in previous research.
• Establish the theoretical or conceptual foundation of the study.
• Clearly explain how the current study contributes to the existing literature.

Authors should prioritize recent, high-quality academic sources, particularly articles published in reputable peer-reviewed journals.

10. Research Methods

The methodology should be presented clearly and sufficiently to allow readers to understand and, where appropriate, replicate the research.

The Methods section should include relevant information such as:

• Research design.
• Research location and period.
• Population and sample.
• Sampling technique.
• Data sources.
• Data collection procedures.
• Research instruments.
• Variables and measurement.
• Data analysis techniques.
• Statistical or analytical methods.
• Software used, where applicable.

For qualitative studies, authors should clearly describe the research approach, participants or data sources, data collection procedures, analytical techniques, and validation methods.

11. Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion section should present the main findings of the study clearly and systematically.

• Present findings supported by appropriate data.
• Use tables, figures, or other visualizations where necessary.
• Explain the meaning and significance of the findings.
• Relate findings to relevant theories and previous studies.
• Clearly identify similarities or differences with previous research.
• Explain the theoretical and practical implications of the findings.

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and referred to appropriately in the text.

12. Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the research objectives and summarize the principal findings.

• Present the main conclusions derived from the research.
• Highlight the theoretical and/or practical contributions.
• Avoid merely repeating the Results and Discussion section.
• Provide recommendations or implications where appropriate.
• Identify research limitations and possible directions for future research when relevant.

13. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be clear, readable, and directly relevant to the manuscript.

• Every table and figure must be numbered consecutively.
• Each table and figure must have a clear title or caption.
• Tables and figures must be referred to in the main text.
• Sources must be provided where applicable.
• Figures must have sufficient resolution for publication.
• Tables and figures should not unnecessarily duplicate information presented in the text.

14. Equations and Mathematical Expressions

Mathematical equations should be clearly presented and properly numbered where necessary.

All symbols and variables used in equations should be explained in the manuscript. Authors should ensure that equations are readable and consistent throughout the manuscript.

15. Citations and References

ICEMA recommends the use of APA 7th Edition for in-text citations and references.

• Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list.
• Every reference listed must be cited in the manuscript.
• Authors should prioritize recent and relevant scholarly publications.
• Reputable peer-reviewed journals should be used as primary references.
• DOI information should be included whenever available.
• Avoid excessive reliance on websites, blogs, non-academic sources, and unpublished materials.
• Reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is recommended.

Authors are strongly encouraged to prioritize references published within the last five years, except for seminal theories, foundational works, or other sources that remain academically relevant.

16. Research Ethics

Authors must ensure that their research has been conducted according to applicable ethical standards.

Where research involves human participants, personal information, confidential data, or other ethically sensitive materials, authors must obtain appropriate ethical approval or authorization where required.

Authors must not engage in:

• Plagiarism.
• Self-plagiarism.
• Fabrication of data.
• Falsification of data.
• Duplicate publication.
• Manipulation of research findings.
• Inappropriate authorship.
• Citation manipulation.

ICEMA reserves the right to reject manuscripts that violate academic and publication ethics.

17. Originality and Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts must be original works.

ICEMA may conduct plagiarism or similarity checks during the submission, review, or publication process. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts contain appropriate citations and do not reproduce the work of others without proper acknowledgment.

Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.

18. Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.

All listed authors must:

• Make a significant contribution to the research.
• Participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
• Approve the final version of the manuscript.
• Accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Changes to authorship after submission should be communicated to and approved by the ICEMA Editorial Team.

19. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, or professional relationships that may influence the research or its interpretation.

Any potential conflict of interest should be disclosed in the manuscript or during the submission process.

20. Funding and Acknowledgments

Authors should disclose sources of financial support for the research, where applicable.

Acknowledgments may be provided to individuals, institutions, research assistants, funding agencies, or other parties that contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship.

21. Peer Review Process

All eligible manuscripts submitted to ICEMA undergo an appropriate double-blind peer-review process.

The review process evaluates:

• Originality.
• Relevance to the scope of ICEMA.
• Theoretical contribution.
• Methodological rigor.
• Quality of analysis.
• Clarity of presentation.
• Academic contribution.
• Practical implications.

Editorial decisions may include:

• Accept
• Accept with Revision
• Resubmit for Review
• Reject

The final decision is determined by the editorial team based on the reviewers' recommendations and the overall academic quality of the manuscript.

22. Manuscript Revision

Authors whose manuscripts require revision must respond carefully to reviewers' comments.

A revised manuscript should be accompanied by a clear response explaining:

• The revisions made.
• The location of each revision in the manuscript.
• The justification for any reviewer suggestion that was not adopted.

Authors are expected to submit revisions within the deadline specified by the editorial team.

23. Final Manuscript and Publication

Accepted manuscripts may undergo editorial and technical editing before publication.

The editorial team reserves the right to make minor corrections related to grammar, formatting, consistency, and style without altering the substantive content of the manuscript.

The final version will be published as part of the ICEMA Proceedings following completion of the editorial and publication process.

6. Uploading supplementary files, if required.
7. Confirming the submission.
