Transformational Leadership and Work Motivation Effects on Village Apparatus Performance: Evidence from Waekeccee Village, Bone Regency, Indonesia

Abstract
Village apparatus performance is an important factor in ensuring effective public administration and the delivery of services to local communities. However, variations in employee performance may be influenced by leadership practices and work-related motivation. This study aimed to examine the effects of transformational leadership and work motivation on the performance of village apparatus at the Waekeccee Village Office, Lappariaja District, Bone Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to village apparatus serving as the study population at the Waekeccee Village Office. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The results showed that transformational leadership had a positive and significant effect on village apparatus performance. Work motivation also had a positive and significant effect on village apparatus performance. These findings indicate that stronger transformational leadership and higher levels of work motivation are associated with improved performance among village apparatus. The study contributes empirical evidence on the importance of leadership and motivational factors in strengthening human resource performance within village-level public administration. Practically, the findings suggest that village government leaders should strengthen transformational leadership practices and create working conditions that foster employee motivation to improve the effectiveness and performance of village apparatus.
